London: Formula One great Michael Schumacher would love to see a street race in New York in the future but the return of in-season testing is a more pressing wish for the German.
The seven-times world champion is gearing up for his home grand prix at the Nuerburgring this week where fans will be hoping he can banish the poor form which has dogged his comeback from retirement.
The ban on testing once the season starts has hampered the Mercedes driver and asked by the official Formula One website what regulation he would most like to change, he said: "A bit of testing during the season would be better for competition."
The 42-year-old added that "even more overtaking" would be another good innovation after measures this year such as DRS were brought in to do just that.Looking into the future, Schumacher was asked in which world city he would most like to see a new street circuit.
"New York. It is a cool city," he said before baffling the interviewer when pondering which decade from the past he would most like to have raced in.
"I`d rather travel into the future and see how racing would be then," he said.
