Kolkata: Having coached Bengal to the
Santosh Trophy title this season, Shabbir Ali has been given
the charge for another term in the upcoming edition of the
Senior National Football Championship.
Under Ali`s coaching Bengal ended their 11 years wait of
the Santosh Trophy title as they emerged champions for a
record 30th time this year, beating Punjab 2-1 in the summit
clash on August 8.
"Shabbir Ali has been reappointed the coach and he will
be assisted by Debashis Mukherjee who will be the goalkeeping
coach," said IFA in a statement.
Shabbir Ali is now at the helm of the coaching of
Calcutta Port Trust, a team in the Calcutta Football League
Premier Division.
Among other announcements, the IFA also appointed Supriyo
Dasgupta and Bijan Chakrabarty as Under-15 coaches for
Bengal`s campaign in the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy for
Sub-Junior National Football Championship.
Nabonil Banerjee and Pradip Hore will be the coaches of
the U-13 side, while Aloke Mukherjee, Bibhu Chakrabarty and
Kanai Sarkar will be observers for the age group teams.
