Shiv Kapur confident ahead of MayBank Malaysian Open

Indian golfer Shiv Kapur is hoping to continue his good run of form in the USD 2.5 million MayBank Malaysian Open starting on Thursday.

Kuala Lumpur: Following an impressive show at the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco, Indian golfer Shiv Kapur is now hoping to continue his good run of form in the USD 2.5 million MayBank Malaysian Open starting on Thursday.
The Asian and European Tour co-sanctioned event will mark its half century this week when it welcomes newly-crowned Masters Tournament Champion Charl Schwartzel, world number one Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy and reigning Open champion Louis Oosthuizen among others. Shiv will also join the galaxy of stars, which will have compatriots SSP Chowrasia, veteran Jeev Milkha Singh and Panasonic Open winner Anirban Lahiri at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. Kapur, who finished tied ninth at the Avantha Masters in Delhi, said he is rejuvenated and is looking to continue his good show. "I`m feeling great on the course at the moment and was in strong contention for a win ahead of the last round at Morocco last week so I know that I do have it in me at the moment," he said."I`m feeling rejuvenated after a much needed short break and definitely better prepared mentally and physically ahead of the coming weeks. "The Maybank Malaysian Open boasts of an amazing line up of golfers and it will definitely be a special week for all the golfers here. It`s a tournament with a rich history and I`m looking forward being a part of it and maybe taking a small piece of that history away with me at the end of it."Points earned in the four-day event from April 14 to 17 will add to the player`s 2011 Race to Dubai Rankings where Shiv currently lies inside the top 100 at 89th spot.
