Radhakrishnan has accepted the resignations of N Rangasamy and
of P Angalane (both Congress) from the assembly.
The Speaker had accepted the resignations of Rangasamy,
who represented Thattanchavady assembly constituency, and
Angalane from Tirbuvanai (R) constituency, a release from the
Secretary to the assembly M Sivprakasam said today.
The two had submitted their letters on January 20 bringing
down the strength of the ruling Congress in the 30-member
assembly from 13 to 11. Seven DMK and three independents are
supporting the government from outside.
The opposition AIADMK has three members, PMK has two
members and CPI and MDMK have one member each.
Rangasamy had earlier told reporters that he was resigning
to protest against the `utter neglect" of his constituency by
the V Vaithilingam government.
