Sporting Gijon have agreed to sell midfielder Michel to Birmingham City pending a medical, the La Liga side said on their website.

Madrid: Sporting Gijon have agreed to sell midfielder Michel to Birmingham City pending a medical, the La Liga side said on their website.Sporting did not provide any financial details but the Marca sports daily and other Spanish media reported a transfer fee of 3.3 million euros (USD 4.73 million) plus a further 10 percent if the English Premier League club decided to sell Michel on.Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has been targeting the 24-year-old for more than a year and said on the English club`s website he had made enquiries about signing several other players.
