Subroto Mukerjee Memorial Chess tourney from Aug 1
Five Grandmasters and 20 International Masters will be seen in action in a field of around 300 players from across the country.
Nagpur: The fourth edition of Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee Memorial All India Open International FIDE Rating chess tournament would be organised by Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force from August 17.
Five Grandmasters and 20 International Masters will be seen in action in a field of around 300 players from across the country. The organisers have already received over 150 confirmed entries, a press release from Defence PRO said.
Local star and International Master Anup Deshmukh, Grandmaster-elect S Vijayalakshmi, Asian Youth gold medalist Rucha Pujari, World Youth bronze medalist Abhimanyu Puranik and former World Youth bronze medalist Prince Bajaj are among those participating in the seven-day long 10-round tournament, which carries a price money of Rs 4 lakh, the release added.
