Dehra Dun: Extending his support to fasting
social activist Anna Hazare`s anti-corruption campaign,
renowned Chipko movement leader Sunderlal Bahuguna on Friday
staged a dharna here.
Bahuguna, in his 80s, sat on the dharna at the Gandhi
park here along with a group of writers and intellectuals
like Vidyasagar Nautiyal, Rajesh Saklani and Kamla Pant to
show solidarity with the campaign launched by Hazare for
enactment of a tough law against corruption.
Describing the campaign of Hazare as a right step,
Bahuguna said corruption "is eating into the resources of the
country like land and this must be stopped immediately".
Several social and voluntary organisations have come
out in support of Hazare. The reports coming from different
places of the hill state said writers, social activists and
intellectuals are staging dharna or taking out candle march in
support of anti-corruption campaign.
