In a chaotic race where Sebastian Vettel crashed out
after a collision that also cost his Red Bull teammate Mark
Webber a probable victory, Sutil`s teammate Vitantonio Liuzzi
Vettel`s misadventure not only paved way for a McLaren
one-two led by Lewis Hamilton but also benefited Sutil.
The two points Sutil earned swelled Force India`s tally
to 32 points and cemented the Silverstone-based outfit`s
sixth place in the constructor`s championship.
Sutil, however, could have finished better but for the
nervous pit crew and Force India chairman Vijay Mallya also
conceded it was a slipshod show.
"We did not qualify well but considering we started 11th
and 18th, I`m pleased we finished ninth and 13th," Mallya said after the race.
"In fact we messed up both pit-stops. Otherwise, Sutil
could easily have finished eighth in front of (Ferrari`s)
Fernando Alonso," rued Mallya, also the team principal.
