Szczesny says Arsenal can still win EPL

Wojciech Szczesny insists that the Gunners can still win the Premier League title despite failing to defend their own pre-season tournament.

London: Polish and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny insists that the Gunners can still win the Premier League title despite failing to defend their own pre-season tournament at the weekend.
Arsene Wenger`s men have gone six years without winning a major trophy, and Szczesny has rubbished views that suggest that the club cannot mount a serious challenge for the top-flight crown in the 2011-12 season. A daily quoted Szczesny, 21, as saying: "That`s not the way I see it. I see it that we are Arsenal Football Club and we should do our best to win the Premier League, not fight for a top-four place." At the weekend the Gunners` fine passing and movement were yet again undone by their defensive frailties and lack of killer instinct in front of goal. They tossed away a two-goal lead against Boca Juniors on Saturday and the next day saw eventual winners New York Red Bulls peg them back late on. Szczesny admitted: "It was disappointing. We want to make sure we see games out. But it was only a friendly and we believe we will do better. We`ll go into the new season with confidence.” ANI
