Mumbai, Feb 16: Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and Zee TV chief Dr Subhash Chandra today met here in a bid to resolve misgivings following the ransacking of Zee TV office by Shiv Sainiks last week over a skit presented during the Zee Marathi annual awards function.
After the meeting that was held at the residence of Maharashtra BJP chief Nitin Gadkari, the Zee TV chief is reported to have expressed apology if the skit had offended the Thackeray family, the sources said.
The Shiv Sena executive president, on the other hand, reportedly said the issue was over for him, they added.
A skit titled `Kaka mala vachva' (uncle, save me) was presented at the Zee Marathi annual awards, allegedly commenting on the ongoing power tussle within the Thackeray family that led to the exit of Raj Thackeray from the party.
Shiv Sena workers, incenced by the skit, ransacked the Zee TV office in Lower Parel last week and asked the channel not to telecast the skit, failing which it would invite more ire of the Sainiks.
According to sources, Gadkari, who is close to Uddhav Thackeray, arranged a meeting between the Sena leader and Dr Chandra at his Worli residence.
The meeting that lasted for nearly an hour, ended up with both sorting out the issue.
Sources close to Gadkari said the BJP leader planned the meeting owing to his respect for the elder Thackeray and his (Gadkari's) ties with the Thackeray family.
