Tiger Woods is to play in next week`s Buick Open, tournament organizers said.

Detroit: Tiger Woods is to play in next week`s Buick Open, tournament organizers said.It will be the world number one`s first event since last week`s British Open at Turnberry where he missed the cut in a major championship for only the second time as a professional.
The Buick Open used to be a regular fixture on Woods`s schedule. He played the event eight times, never finishing lower than 11th while winning twice in 2002 and 2006. The 33-year-old American, however, has not been back to the Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club since 2006. "We are very fortunate and honored the world`s number one-ranked player has decided to play the Buick Open," said Larry Peck, national promotions manager for Buick-GMC, in a statement. "There is no doubt Tiger brings an elevated excitement level to Warwick Hills whenever he plays and we are delighted to share the news with Michigan fans." Bureau Report
