Zee News paints India green with 60 lakhs trees

New Delhi: Zee News, which launched its nationwide campaign “My Earth My Duty” on June 5th 2010, painted the country green by planting a record 60 lakh trees on August 25.

Over 1 crore volunteers from various schools, colleges, villages, cities, covering the length and breadth of the country, from Shimla to Chennai, participated in this noble venture.
Spread over a period of two months, the campaign has successfully reached out to millions of Indians and has helped in creating awareness about climate change, showing how the common man can contribute by making simple choices in his daily lives.
To make this nationwide Earth Festival a grand success, Zee News joined hands with NYKS, NCC, NSS, ETF & CRPF and other organizations with widespread reach. Also, through 360 degree communication, more and more individuals were urged to participate in this drive and become green citizens.
The logo of My Earth My Duty campaign, which encapsulates mother Earth with a green cover, is aimed at reminding every individual about his pending duty towards the planet, for the sake of our future generations.

Zee News has also joined hands with various NGOs and credible corporate houses to spread the message of change. The campaign is being promoted extensively across all channels.

My Earth My Duty is Zee News’ attempt to inspire, make aware & motivate everybody to do their bit to save our planet. The channel will constantly address the impending threat of global warming that could endanger the existence of millions of people around the world.

The tree plantation drive was carried out in more than 54 cities and 2.5 lakh villages thus making it the country’s largest ever plantation drive in a single day.
