New Delhi: Former Army officer, Lt Col Prasad Shrikant Purohit , accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case, on Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking bail.

Purohit moved the bail application three days after the Bombay High Court granted bail to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, one of the prime accused in the Malegaon blast case.

Sadhvi Pragya and 44-year-old Purohit were arrested in 2008. While Sadhvi Pragya, who is suffering from cancer, is undergoing treatment a Madhya Pradesh hospital, Purohit is lodged in Taloja jail in Maharashtra.

The NIA had given a clean chit to Pragya, the agency had, however, opposed Purohit's bail plea.
