A Muslim family in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is setting a perfect example of communal harmony. Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Bagh Sarai village in Sultanpur, has got pictures of Hindu deities on the wedding card of her daughter.

And that’s not all, as along with the invitation cards, he has also got a calendar printed featuring Lord Ram and Sita. The cards and calendars are being distributed by Mohammad Saleem to all villagers ahead of the wedding of his daughter Jahana Bano.

The New Indian Express quoted Mohammad Saleem as saying that his move was his gesture to respect the sentiments of his friends from Hindu community. He further said that the groom’s family also had no objection to the move of carrying images of Hindu deities on the wedding card.

According to the report, more than 350 cards with Hindu deity pictures have been printed while over 400 were printed in traditional Muslim style. The cards also have Hindu religious symbols like kalash, banana leaves printed on them.
