Jaipur witnesses dip in dengue cases, say authorities

JAIPUR: Cases of dengue fever have witnessed a significant dip in Jaipur in the last four weeks, claimed city authorities.

Generally, cases of dengue fever should go down as the weather changes and temperatures go down.

According to the state health department, at least 1,089 cases of dengue fever were registered in Jaipur from January to October 2017.

In October, one death was reported due to dengue fever.

In November so far, 93 persons tested positive for dengue in last one week (Nov 14 to Nov 20).

"Our figures show that there is noticeable decrease in number of dengue cases, which we were reporting in September and October. In October's last week, we reported 1,135 dengue cases but in the last week (Nov 14 to Nov 20), only 394 cases were reported from across the state. It shows that the efforts which we have made in controlling the spread of the disease have helped in reducing the number of dengue cases," said Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, additional director (rural health) health department told Times of India.

In 2017, over 7,191 cases have already been reported in Rajasthan.
