Srinagar: Around 95 youths have joined militant ranks in Jammu and Kashmir last year, a senior police official said.

With these youths joining the militancy, their strength in the state has risen to around 200, the officer said requesting anonymity.

The news comes amid regular stop militant attacks on security forces in the Valley.

The government has ruled out any dialogue with the separatists till the cessation of violence in the state.

Clashes erupted in Kashmir after a lull in violence for several months following the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani.

Scores of protesters had joined ranks in mass demonstrations across the Valley. Dozens of security men were injured and several killed in stone-pelting.
