Bangalore: Police in poll-bound Karnataka have arrested three persons for allegedly transporting Rs seven lakh and liquor worth Rs 15 lakh for distribution among voters in two separate incidents.

Belgaum police on today arrested two persons who were illegally transporting Rs seven lakh in a car allegedly to distribute it among voters.

Both cash and car were confiscated, police said.

A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday and 75 liquor bottles of different brands valued at Rs 15 lakh recovered from him, a police statement here said.

Elections would be held for 224-assembly seats on May 5.
