Bangalore: With the Karnataka polls fast approaching, political leaders seem to be going tech-savvy and are now using social networking websites to connect with their voters.

Both young leaders and stalwart politicians like Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka and Health Minister Aravind Limbavali have opened accounts of popular social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, as per a newspaper report.

Some of them have even gone to the extent of hiring professionals to manage these accounts, the report states.
The political leaders are using these Facebook and Twitter accounts to reach out to their supporters by reportedly posting pictures of election campaigns, highlighting present and past achievements and contribution to some social cause.
