Karnataka polls: LK Advani warns against indiscipline, corruption

BJP leader LK Advani on Sunday warned that indiscipline in the party would not be tolerated and there was no question of compromise on corruption.

Ranebennur: BJP leader LK Advani on Sunday warned that indiscipline in the party would not be tolerated and there was no question of compromise on corruption. "...Within the party zero tolerance for indiscipline, within the government zero tolerance for corruption," Advani said at a public meeting for the May 5 Assembly polls. He said party workers had been told that if they had any grievances or differences, they could bring them to notice of the senior leaders who would address these. "We will not tolerate indiscipline," he said.
Without naming former BJP strongman B S Yeddyurappa, who was forced by the party central leadership to quit on graft charges following the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, he said the party would neither tolerate nor compromise on corruption. The BJP leader said party-ruled states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh were always in discussion for good performance. Observing that since the country attained independence, a two party system was yet to evolve, he, however, noted that a bipolar polity had developed with Congress and BJP emerging as the poles. Apparently referring to the talk about the possible emergence of a third front, he said, "no government can be formed in New Delhi without (the) support of either BJP or Congress." He also commended the performance of the Jagadish Shettar government. PTI
