Rift in Kerala Congress over appointment of district presidents

Thiruvananthapuram: Differences over the appointment of district Congress presidents have come to the fore in Kerala on Friday, with rival factions airing their grievances in public.

Former KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala said that he too was unhappy over the appointments.

"Myself, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy have differences over the reorganisation of DCC and KPCC President V M Sudheeran also might have disagreement," PTI quoted Chennithala as saying.

"It would be taken up in the appropriate forums in accordance with democratic structure of the party," Chennithala said at a press conference here.

The Congress party had announced new DCC presidents in the state last week.

However, Kerala Congress Pradesh President VM Sudheeran welcomed the decision and said that it was decided based on merit.
