Welcome to the live coverage of the second T20I between India and Sri Lanka to be held at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.

India managed 196/6 on the board and Sri Lanka need 197 runs to win from 20 overs. 

The hosts bowled well at important stages to win the game by 67 runs. India level the series 1-1.

Dhoni hands the ball to Pandya and he keeps it in a good channel. Bumrah bowls the final over and gets the ball in that full length channel.

Bumrah bowls a perfect yorker to send Senanayake back to the hut after trapping him LBW. Two balls later he cleans up Chameera.

Ashwin comes back to bowl and what an over by the spinner. Shanaka departs after holding out to Raina in the deep. Perera then slices it to Rahane and departs as well.

Bumrah gets the ball finally and starts off with a yorker. Siriwardana then gets a lucky four off a ball that was bowled with a change of pace. Shanaka then gets it over Pandya for a six over long on.

Jadeja his hit for a huge six by Siriwardana. Sri Lanka need these almost very frequently. Five more come from the over. Raina sees 16 runs come from his over next with two huge maximums.

Raina replaces Yuvraj and gives away six runs from his over. Sri Lanka are in huge need of runs here.

Jadeja continues and Chandimal gets a single. Next ball Kapugedera gives a charge and a running Pandya takes a good catch. Next ball Chandimal is stumped after Dhoni does a lightning work behind the stumps. Shanaka gets off the mark.

Kapugedera goes for a big shot but a stupendous effort from Rohit saw him covering ground and going for a catch. India celebrated but replays show the ball touched the ground. Two singles follow before Chandimal gets a boundary. Rohit looked like he hurt his knee but is back on his feet.

Jadeja uses his variations well to limit the Lankans here from scoring freely. Just six runs come from the over.

Yuvraj continues and Kapugedera cleans it clear over the ropes for a six. A good comeback from him after that giving away just two runs.

Yuvraj gets the ball and bowls a tidy over for just three runs. Next over sees Jadeja roll his arm and isn't allowing any big shots. A ball takes Kapugedera's edge over Jadeja's head as the batsmen run a single. Five come from it.

Ashwin continues and four singles are taken from his over. Good stuff here by the spinner. Chandimal swings over midwicket to get a brace in the next over. Kapugedera walks across the stumps and hovers it over midwicket for a four. Next ball is hit for another boundary. Costly over here by Nehra.

Ashwin continues and gives away just four runs. Good decision by Dhoni to bowl him early. Next over sees Nehra give away three runs from the first ball as Pandya dives to save a certain boundary. Next ball sees a hint of movement away from the length area and Gunathilaka departs after nicking it to Dhoni. Kapugedera gets a top edge for four.

Dhoni starts with Ashwin and after two wides from the first ball, Dilshan departs as the skipper gets a stumping. Three runs come from the over. Nehra then gets a wicket from his first ball as Prasanna departs after an excellent catch by Yuvraj running in from mid-off.

10 runs come from the last over as Chameera rolled his arm. Dhoni gets a vital inside edge for a four.

Perera bowls and Raina manages to pick a single. A wide is bowled and Raina calls Pandya for a quick single, two runs come. Two balls later Pandya departs. Raina then walks across and holds on to the fielder. Next ball Yuvraj departs as well and it is a hat-trick for Perera.

Chameera bowls and Raina picks the length early to smack it for four. The next one is belted towards deep midwicket boundary for another four. A wide next before Raina places it just enough towards midwicket for four. A dot ball follows before Raina edges for another boundary. A yorker sees Raina getting a single to keep strike.

Pandya hits Rajitha towards midwicket boundary for a four. Single comes next before a wide is bowled. In the last ball Raina gets a gap and hits a much needed four. 14 comes from the over.

Senannayake bowls and starts brilliantly. Rahane plays a nothing shot and scoops the ball straight to Dilshan. Pandya comes in ahead of Yuvraj and Dhoni. Sri Lanka has tied India here who are losing their way somehow. Pandya gets a brace as Raina calls for two and gets it. A single comes off the last ball.

Chameera gets back into action and a slower ball sees him get an edge as the bowler completes a stunning catch. Raina comes in to bat and gets off the mark. Good bowling here from Chameera and Sri Lanka have come back well in the match. A short ball troubles Raina who misses it completely. An inside edge gives Raina a brace. Just five runs from the over.

Shanaka bowls and Rahane makes room to get a touch but misses. After two singles Rahane times it crisply for a four. A sloppy miss by Rajitha at short 3rd man, sees Rahane pick another four. Clever from the batsman here as he picks a brace.

Prasanna continues and he is allowing the batsmen just singles as the fielders are placed well. Rahane gets it in the toe end of the bat and manages a single. Rohit then misses to read a ball which Chandimal collects. A short ball sees Rohit break the shackles as he hits a huge six.

Over 11 | Score 100/1 (Rohit 34, Rahane 11)

Rajitha comes back to ball and continues from where Prasanna left off. Indians aren't getting the desired boundaries and runs are coming in singles. A short ball above Rahane's head is called a wide. Rahane charges the bowler and manages a single. Rohit hits the ball towards mid-off and brings up India's 100 runs.

Prasanna bowls a good over under these circumstances to give away six singles. India are happy to rotate the strike as the run-rate has dropped after Dhawan's dismissal.

Siriwardana gets the ball and the left-arm spinner starts with a beauty to beat Rohit's edge not by much. A shot hit through the gap between deep midwicket and long-on sees Rohit get a brace. Next two balls are superbly bowled before Rahane times a shot for a four.

Prasanna will bowl some spin here and the batsmen keep the scorecard ticking. A dot ball to end the over.

Chameera gets the ball and Rohit dabs the ball for a single. Dhawan then works the ball well for a brace to bring up his 50. A sloppy fielding at point allows a single next before Rohit rotates the strike back. A slower ball follows and the bowlers appeals for a LBW, there was a big inside edge. Dhawan then gets a quick ball and tries to work towards 3rd man only to manage a nick.

Perera continues and gives away four runs from the first three balls including a wide. The Indians are rotating the strike well. Dhawan comes out and drives and picks a brace. Another ball down the leg and it is a wide. Dhawan gets a half-volley and drives it for a four. Another ball is timely placed in the leg side for a four. India cruising here.

Senannayake continues and concedes three singles from the first three balls before Dhwan pounces at him and gets two back to back fours through the leg side. Meanwhile, 50 runs up for India.

Rajitha comes back from the other end and hits a lofted drive for a four. A single is produced from the next ball. Dhawan defends the ball straight to the cover fielder. Loose ball outside the off-stump and Dhawan frees his arms for a four. A low full--toss sees Dhawan place the ball for a four. The last ball sees another shot for a boundary through the off-side.

Spin is introduced as early in the third over through Senannayake and Rohit scampers for a single. Dhawan then tried to place the ball through the off-side but finds the fielder. A LBW appeal next as the umpire isn't interested. Dhawan then goes with a shot and gets another six in the leg side before taking a single next. Rohit rotates for a run and will keep strike.

Perera gets the ball and he starts with a good length and line as Rohit is squared off for a single. Dhawan then works the ball off his legs for a brace. Next ball is played near the crease as the ball bounces above the fielder at point for a single. A dot ball follows next before Rohit works the ball on the leg side for a run. An easy pick-up shot next sees Dhawan hit a six.

Rajitha starts off with the proceedings and Rohit lashes on to a short ball for a four. A flick off the pads sees him pick a brace in the next ball. A hint of swing for Rajitha next and it is a good length ball which in turn is defended. A single is collected from the next ball after Rohit places the ball towards the 3rd man. Good length and line as Dhawan defends the final two balls.
