Microsoft unveils Surface Book, Surface Pro 4: As it happened...

Microsoft Corporation on Tuesday unveiled a series of products such as the Lumia phones, Band and the Surface Pro 4 in line with expectation. However, the tech giant gave everyone the biggest surprise when it unveiled the company's first ever laptop, the Microsoft Surface Book which it claims is the thinnest most powerful PC ever created.

And as it's wrap up time here, it appears all the expected products from Microsoft - Band, Surface Pro 4 and the phones, Lumia 950 and 950 XL - have come true. And the best surprise of the day - the Microsoft Surface Book, the first ever laptop from the company.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is now on stage. Is it time for a wrap up?

Heaping praises on Windows 10 ramp, he says it is by far the fastest the company's ever had. More and more people are coming home to Windows, he says adding that with Windows 10, the company has begun a new chapter.

Further highlighting the new phones, he said the Lumia 950 and 950 XL are phones you can run your entire business on.

The price of Surface Book starts at $1,499 and is available on Oct 26 with pre-orders staring tomorrow (Oct 7) itself.

Panay says the Microsoft Surface Book is now the thinnest most powerful PC ever created.

It weighs 1.6 lbs and is 7.7mm thicks. It uses an Nvidia GeForce GPU which is extremely fast.

And hello Microsoft Surface Book, the first Microsoft Laptop!

It's comes with a 13.5-inch display, 6M pixels, 267 PPI and is optically bonded. It has the same Gorilla Glass with Surface Pro 4 and has 12 hours of battery life.

Panay compares it to MacBook Pro and says the Surface Book two times faster than the Apple product.

The Surface Pro 4 is 30 percent faster than Pro 3 and 50 percent faster than the MacBook Air, Panay says.

The Surface Pro 4 comes in five colour options and is available for preorder starting October 7. Priced at USD 899, it will be available in the market from October 26.

It has up to 1TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM.

Panay unveils the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and says it's the thinnest core PC ever shipped. With the new Microsoft Surface Pro 4, the company has moved on to sixth-gen Intel chips which is 50 percent faster than Macbook Air.

It comes with a larger screen of 12.3 inches compared to 12 inches of Pro 3 but the size of the device remains the same by reducing the frame around it.

The Pro 4 has 5 million pixels, and 267 PPI (pixels per inch) and comes with a 1.1mm backlight unit, a photo-aligned negative LC oxide thingy on it.

There's a custom chip set that brings it together which Microsoft calls G5 chipset.

And now, it's time for one of the most awaited products of the night: The Microsoft Surface Pro.

Composers are writing symphonies on the Surface Pro 3, Panay informs and that is quite interesting info. And engineers are using Surface to make the next Surface, Panay continues.

We have competitors who are chasing it, Panay says. Apple, are you listening? :) According to him, 98 percent of people who use the Surface Pro 3 recommend it.

The Lumia 950 has been priced at $549 while the Lumia 950 XL is $649. Both the Lumia phones will be available in November.

Another version, the Lumia 550 has been priced at $139 and will available in December.

The new Lumia phones come with 'glance screen technology' that will pop notifications, emails, texts, time, date on your screen without touching it. And the best part? It does not consume battery life.

Features of the Lumia phones include a 20MP sensor, triple LED RGN Natural Flash, 5th generation optical image stabilization (OIS), a dedicated camera button. ht photos.

The phones also come with an RGB sensor for more accurate colors and is packed with Office, Skype, Cortana, OneDrive. The phone has 32GB of storage which is expandable.

Say Hello to Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Interestingly, these smartphones come with two antennas.. Why? When you hold the Lumia phones, Microsoft will choose which antenna to connect to for better network. Now, that interesting indeed.

The 950 comes with 5.2-inch LED display and uses the Hexacore processor while the 950 XL comes with a 5.7-inch diplay with Octacore processor, both from Qualcomm.

The 950 has a 518 PPI, while the XL is 564 PPI.

Now, it's time to talk about Lumia and Surface.

Myerson is back on stage and we are expecting new Lumia phones and of course, the new Surface tablet.

In the last three years, the Lumia has  grown from zero to $3.5 billion business, Myerson says.

The design of the the new Band looks different than the original. It comes with a salient of features such as curved screen has Gorilla Glass 3, OLED,  GPS, UV monitoring, guided workout, sleep and calorie tracking, notifications and calls.

The game demo is interesting and it is called Project X Ray.

Continuing with the facts, Myerson says there have been 1.25 billion visits to the Microsoft app store. Now, that's really huge and interesting.

Myerson further reveals that businesses are moving faster to Windows 10 than any previous Windows upgrades and that there are more than 8 million business PCs running Windows 10.

It's only been 10 weeks since we started rolling out Windows 10. We are humbled by the feedback we've received, Myerson says.

He reveals interesting facts: More than 110 million devices are running Windows 10. Windows 10 users have viewed 650 billion pages with the Edge browser, streamed 120 years of game play from Xboxes to Windows 10 devices and have asked Cortana more than 1 billion questions.
