Mumbai: A former Under-19 cricketer has been arrested after he drove his luxury car onto platform number 1 of Andheri Railway Station, triggering panic among passengers during peak hours on Monday.

According to ANI, the incident took place around 8 am when the luxury car suddenly came speeding onto the platform no. 1 which was jam-packed with commuters rushing to their work places.

The young driver, Harpreet Singh, who is into real estate business, is a former member of the under-19 cricket team.

Singh was later arrested by the Andheri RPF officials for questioning.

He will be subjected to a medical examination to establish whether he was inebriated or intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Thankfully, there were no casualties among the commuters. After the incident, many were seen gaping at the vehicle, with some even clicking selfies with the car and a local train in the background.

This is the second incident of its kind at Andheri in recent months.
