he United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the Rio Summit, Rio Conference, Earth Summit was a major United Nations conference held in Rio de Janeiro from 3 June to 14 June 1992.
In 2012, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development was also being held in Rio, and is also commonly called Rio+20 or Rio Earth Summit 2012. It held on June 20-22nd.
The mission of The Earth Summit “Vision, Cooperation, Transformation” is well seen in all the initiatives and actions it features. My Earth My Duty also equally adapts to the idea stated. A vision to change the environment, cooperation among people to work together and successfully transform towards a greener future.
The Earth Summit 2012, held in Rio, acknowledged the efforts of Zee News towards altering the downfalls of global warming and gave an opportunity to put forth our views on the biggest international platform along with some of the most impactful initiatives taken in the world.

My Earth my Duty, in the final phase of the campaign did not only made it to the nominations in the Rashtriya Rajiv Gandhi Award ceremony for the Best on AIR CSR campaign
Till date but also got rewarded and appreciated. The record set by the Zee News initiative gained it widespread recognition, because of which the successive years saw increased awareness and participation by the people across the boundaries of the country.
