Kathmandu, Nov 24: India and Nepal are likely to discuss bilateral issues, including trade, transit, border problems and co-operation in water resources, during External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's visit, who is set to arrive here on Monday afternoon.

During the three-day goodwill trip, which is the first high level visit by any Indian official after Nepal became Republic in May this year, Mukherjee is set to meet President Ram Baran Yadav, Vice President Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Prachanda, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, Foreign Ministry sources said.

Mukherjee, who is visiting the neighbouring country on the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart, will also attend a dinner reception to be hosted by Yadav in his honour tonight, Indian Embassy sources said.

During the bilateral talks, entire gamut of Nepal-India relations- bilateral co-operation, trade and transit issues, border problems and co-operation in water resources- will come up.

Mukherjee will also visit Kosi barrage to see progress made in the containment of the damaged embankment and Integrated Check Point in Birgunj on Wednesday.
