Puducherry, Dec 18: The two Kanchi Shankaracharyas and 52 others were here on Thursday handed over copies of chargesheets against them in the Shankararaman murder case.

Special Sessions Judge Krishnaraja charged the senior pontiff Jayendra Saraswati, and Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati, the junior seer with conspiracy to murder, its funding and abetment.

Twelve others were charged with the actual crime.

Jayendra Saraswati and Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati are both prime accused in the case.

Shankararaman, managing trustee of the Lord Varadaraja Perumal temple at Kancheepuram, was murdered on September 3, 2004, allegedly at the behest of the accused.

Pran - India
This can happens only in India where a Hindu spiritual head is charged with murder or having blue films and what not what. We were slaves for more than one thousand years and our mentality is also like this. Still Hindus are thinking like slaves, and pretend like helpless . A so called High caste will prefers to a Muslim or christian than to low caste Hindu and visavarsa is also 100% true.
