Mumbai, March 09: Perceiving a potential threat to the arrested terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, jail authorities will shift some of the inmates lodged in the Central Mumbai's Arthur Road jail to the newly-constructed Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai, sources said.

"Some prisoners will be shifted to Taloja jail to ensure better security of Kasab as we do not want to take any risks," said a police source.

The source did not divulge the names of the prisoners who will be shifted to Taloja jail, the biggest jail in the state which was inaugurated in March last year to decongest other prisons in the state.

The source added that the Arthur Road jail has about 1,800 prisoners against a capacity of 800 inmates.

Extradited gangster Abu Salem, gangster Chhota Rajan's right hand DK Rao, alleged members of Indian Mujahideen and 2008 Malegaon blast accused, who have been currently lodged in different barracks of the jail's Anda Cell, are likely to be soon shifted to Taloja jail, spread over 27 acres.

Once the shifting of the prisoners is completed, Kasab will be the only inmate lodged in Anda Cell, the sources said.
