London: Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has vowed to never give up the title fight as he bids to take a step closer to matching his F1 hero Ayrton Senna.

Hamilton’s victory in Shanghai catapulted him to second in the standings, still 21 points behind Red Bulls’s Sebastian Vettel going into Sunday’s race in Turkey.

“I am the hunter - he is the quarry. I am not like Sebastian who has had the fastest car for some time now and can arrive here knowing he has the fastest car. He can go into a weekend with a much different mentality,” stated Hamilton.

“I have got to hustle and grind to try and take advantage of every slip-up or mistake they make. And I have got to try and extract even more from my car. Keeping momentum for us at the moment is, rather than winning every race, it is finishing on the podium consistently,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton lines up for his 75th Grand Prix this weekend having chalked up 15 wins since his debut in 2007.

That is two more than his hero Senna managed at the same stage of his career - though the Brazilian went on to win 41 times and claim three drivers’ crowns.
