Andhra DGP visits family of cop killed by Maoists

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) V Dinesh Reddy Wednesday met the family members the martyred Greyhounds reserve inspector K Vara Prasad Babu, who was captured and killed by Maoists.
Reddy, who was here to attend some local programmes, visited Babu`s native place at Martoor in Anakapalli mandal of the district today and consoled the grieving family members.
Dinesh later said that he would recommend to the government to honor the deceased inspector with `Shourya Chakra Award`.

Vara Prasad Babu was captured and killed by Maoists after he lost his way in Kancharla forests, while returning from an encounter in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on April 16 in which ten rebels were killed.
