"The Cabinet appreciated the Centre's decision to give a share in revenue to states in coal blocks. The state has decided to request the Centre to give appropriate share in the oil and natural gas in the Krishna Godavari basin," Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy told reporters here tonight after a marathon meeting of the state Cabinet.

"The state is newly-formed and needs to grow on the industrial front," he said, explaining why the share was sought.

The government today also decided to establish an international airport company for setting up international airport at Bhogapuram near Visakhapatnam. An aviation academy, maintenance and repair facilities would also be set up there.

The new airport terminal building at Tirupati would be inaugurated in July and the Rajahmundry airport would soon have night-landing facility. Six other airports would also be set up at various places, Reddy said.
