Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Prasanna Kumar Mohanty on Thursday briefed new Chief Minister-to-be, N Chandrababu Naidu, about the ongoing process related to the bifurcation of the state.
Chandrababu, whose Telugu Desam Party won 102 seats to bag power in (new) Andhra Pradesh, will take oath as the first Chief Minister after June 2 when the bifurcation process will have been formally completed.
The Chief Secretary gave a power point presentation to Chandrababu on the division of assets and government employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He also briefed him about the status relating to the distribution of All India Services (IAS, IPS and IFS) officers between the two states, official sources said.
There is no clarity yet on the cadre allotment of AIS officers as guidelines in this regard have not been announced yet. The file on this is pending approval of the Prime Minister.
Allotment of AIS officers to the two states will be based on the guidelines drafted by the Pratyush Sinha Committee, appointed by the Centre.
Chandrababu also reportedly discussed the appointment of a new Chief Secretary to AP government, as Mohanty will be relinquishing office on May 31.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu is expected to function as Chief Minister from the Acharya Nagarjuna University campus between Vijayawada and Guntur.
Two newly-constructed blocks on the ANU campus will be used as Chief Minister`s Office and other official departments, government sources said.
Though five blocks in the existing Secretariat in Hyderabad have been allotted to residual AP, Chandrababu is disinclined to function from there.
