AP CM trying to weaken Telangana strike: TRS
K Chandrasekhar Rao alleged that N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to weaken the ongoing general strike in support of separate Telangana demand.
Hyderabad: Alleging that Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to weaken the
ongoing general strike in support of separate Telangana
demand, TRS on Monday demanded Congress leaders "dethrone" the
party-led Government to protect the interests of the region.
The Chief Minister ordered massive power cuts in the
region to discredit the ongoing general strike, TRS President
K Chandrasekhar Rao said.
"This phase of movement is not going to relent. I also
humbly appeal to the Chief Minister, don`t trouble the
farmers. Never before in the history, power was cut for
agriculture. If need be, you cut power for industry or
domestic sector," he told reporters here.
"We appeal to people of Telangana, let us fight till
we achieve the separate statehood. It (power cuts) is a
conspiracy by Chief Minister. We appeal to Telangana Congress
representatives, don`t cooperate with the Chief Minister who
is acting against Telangana farmers. Resign from your posts,
dethrone the Government and save Telangana farmers. Or else,
we are going to attack the houses of public representatives of
Telangana region," he warned.
The ruling Congress leaders from Telangana should stop
the "drama of undertaking visits to Delhi" in the name of
mounting pressure to obtain a favourable decision on separate
Telangana demand, the TRS President added.
