AP CM welcomes PRP-Cong merger

Kiran Kumar Reddy tonight welcomed the merger of Praja Rajyam
of Chiranjeevi with Congress.

"We thank the party high command and Sonia Gandhiji for
allowing the merger of the PRP with Congress. We also
congratulate PRP president Chiranjeevi, their MLAs and the
party for their decision to merge," a statement issued by the
Chief Minister`s office quoted Reddy as saying.

"We will work together for the welfare of the poorest of
the poor and overall development of the state. The decision
will strengthen the `hands` of the Congress party in serving
the nation in general and the state of Andhra Pradesh in
particular," the release added.
