Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Congress
Committee on Tuesday constituted a Study Group of party leaders to
look into the impact of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal`s
verdict in the state.

M Kodanda Reddy, Chairman of AP Kisan Kheth Mazdoor
Congress, will be the Coordinator of the Group, R Ananda
Bhaskar, State Congress General Secretary, said in a release.

The members of the Group are: G Chinna Reddy, N Uttam
Kumar Reddy, M Bhatti Vikramarka, Gade Venkata Reddy, Rayapati
Srinivas, M Buddha Prasad, P Koteswara Rao, Rayachoti Ramaiah
and Gangula Pratapa Reddy.

The Group will take advice from former PCC President P
Narsa Reddy, State Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy and MP
K Bapi Raju to formulate their report.

The panel would also obtain technical and engineering
support from irrigation experts, the release said.

The tribunal gave its award last week and the verdict
is widely seen as a disappointment for Andhra Pradesh as the
state has allegedly lost its right over surplus waters of
river Krishna.

Farmer groups in Andhra Pradesh are also opposing
tribunal`s decision to allow neighbouring Karnataka to raise
the height of Almati dam.
