AP engineer held for unaccounted assets

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.90 crore belonging to a Deputy Executive Engineer in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh.

today unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.90
crore belonging to a Deputy Executive Engineer in Mahabubnagar
district of Andhra Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off, ACB sleuths conducted
simultaneous searches at the residence of B Gopal Reddy,
Deputy Executive Engineer of Priyadarshini Jurala Project, and
also of his relatives at Hyderabad and Mahabubnagar, an ACB
official said.

Searches resulted in unearthing of unaccounted
moveable and immovable assets worth over Rs 1.90 crore
possessed by Reddy, he said.

These included houses in the state capital, Vanapathy
town, ten plots in Ranga Reddy district, Mahabubnagar and 35
acres of agriculture land, the ACB official said.

The government officer has been arrested, he added.
