Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday set up an inquiry committee to look into the factors leading to last week`s bus mishap in Mahbubnagar district in which 45 people lost their lives.

The two-member panel, comprising IAS officers, has also been asked to suggest steps to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The committee, comprising Raymond Peter, Principal Secretary (Rural Development) and L Premachandra Reddy, Secretary (Finance), has to submit its report within 30 days, a Government Order (GO) said here.

As many as 45 people were killed when a private luxury bus headed to Hyderabad from Bangalore caught fire in the early hours of October 30 near Palem in Mahbubnagar district, some 140km from the Andhra Pradesh state capital.
