AP Legislative Council condemns unruly behaviour of MLAs

The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council on Friday condemned the unruly behaviour of some MLAs during Governor E S L Narasimhan`s customary address to the joint sitting of the Legislature.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative
Council on Friday condemned the unruly behaviour of some MLAs
during Governor E S L Narasimhan`s customary address to the
joint sitting of the Legislature.
Council Chairman A Chakrapani said the behaviour of the
MLAs yesterday was objectionable and deserves to be condemned.
Strongly condemning the incident, Leader of Opposition
in the Council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao asked the government to
see to it that such incidents do not recur.

He also condemned the attack on Lok Satta Party
president and MLA N Jayaprakash Narayan by TRS MLAs.

Taking strong exception to the behaviour of the MLAs,
Congress MLC Paladugu Venkat Rao, who was also injured in the
attack on Jayaprakash Narayan, said people are now wondering
whether they can feel safe as MLAs were attacked in the
Assembly premises.

Several members took exception to certain remarks of
TRS MLC N Lakshmana Rao during the debate.
Five MLAs - three from TRS and two from TDP -- were
today suspended for seven days from the Andhra Pradesh
Assembly for unruly behaviour during the Governor`s address to
the joint Legislature session.
