Hyderabad: P Gattaiah, who is said to be among the tallest men in the country, can now travel free of cost in state transport buses in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) today issued a complementary free bus pass to Gattaiah in view of his financial problems. The 38-year-old, who is seven feet six inches tall, figures in the `Limca Book of Records`. Gattiah`s right leg was removed earlier following an illness and he now walks with an artificial leg. He has been working at the Government-run crafts village `Shilparamam` here on contract basis. APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director A K Khan, who came to know about Gattaiah`s financial problems through media, has decided to issue a free bus pass to him on humanitarian grounds, an official release said. The pass will be valid for one year and allow Gattaiah to travel free in express, deluxe and super luxury buses of APSRTC, it said.
Gattaiah has thanked the APSRTC MD for the gesture.
