Hyderabad: It has been over two days
since N Arun Kumar, a software engineering student from
Hyderabad, was killed in the United States, but his aged
parents are unaware of the tragedy that has befallen on them.

Kumar`s father Dhondiba Rao (70), a cardiac patient,
and his mother Sakuntala have not been told about the death of
their younger son.

Sakuntala has been told Kumar was seriously injured in
an accident and she believes her son would return home.

The family members and friends of the 26-year-old
student feel the parents may not be able to digest the shock
and also the agony of waiting for his body for days together,
Kumar`s close friend S Anoop said.

The family and friends now eagerly await Kumar`s body.

They met Andhra Pradesh Home Minister P Sabita Reddy
yesterday and sought help in getting the body back as early as
possible.

Anoop said he also met Chief Secretary S V Prasad and
other officials and the request has been forwarded to the
American Embassy.

He said Kumar`s friends in the US and the Telugu
Association of North America (TANA) have been coordinating
with the officials in America on sending the body here.

A post-mortem has been conducted on Kumar`s body,
Anoop said.
