Hyderabad: India`s leading automakers are
set to display some of their much-awaited brands and a range
of vehicles at an exhibition beginning here from tomorrow.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association
with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the
Andhra Pradesh Government is organising the four-day event,
First Auto Show South, at Hitex Exhibition Centre here.
Chief Minister K Rosaiah will formally inaugurate the
auto show on Friday.
A number of top vehicle makers-Tata Motors, Toyota,
General Motors, Fiat India, Skoda, Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda
Cars, TVS Motors, Honda Motorcycles and Yamaha - besides car
audio and accessories manufacturers, will participate in the
exhibition, said S Kannan, Director & Head, CII, AP.
While Toyota will hold a special preview of the much-
awaited Toyota Etios Concept along with display of its global
quality bestsellers, futuristic hybrids and a range of SUVs,
Honda Motorcycles will launch a new bike at the show.
Latest products and technologies on display will
include passenger cars, SUVs, hybrid vehicles, luxury cars,
two wheelers, racing bikes, car audios and video systems, GPS
Navigation Systems, tyres and vehicle security systems.
The event is supported by the Automotive Component
Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Federation of
Automobile Associations of India (FADA).
"The participants will use this as an opportunity to
strengthen brand image with stakeholders, networking for new
dealers and customers, sharing best practices, and display or
launch of new products for the southern region," Kannan said.
The organisers are planning to rotate the regional
auto shows across the country in a phased manner, he added.
