Hyderabad: Former Union Minister and BJP
leader Bandaru Dattatrya on Tuesday said there would be a
constitutional crisis in Andhra Pradesh if the Centre delayed
statehood for Telangana region.

Speaking to reporters here, Dattatreya alleged that both
Congress party and the UPA government have been deceiving the
people of Telangana by holding frequent meetings on the issue.

"Holding of meetings without any purpose is a waste of
time," he said.

Dattatreya asked the Congress party to make its stand on
Telangana issue clear and state whether the party was in
favour of or against the separate statehood as its MPs are
divided on the issue.

Referring to the ambitious Hyderabad Metro Line project,
Dattatreya alleged that the state government has changed the
route map of the Metro project at the behest of
Majlis-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) from Tarnaka locality.

BJP would oppose the state government`s move to change
the route of the project, he said, adding that an all party
meeting should be convened to discuss the issue.
