Congress is committed to the formation of separate Telangana and all stakeholders should support the party in finding a solution to the issue, Congress Working Committee member K Keshav Rao said here today.

formation of separate Telangana and all stakeholders should
support the party in finding a solution to the issue, Congress
Working Committee member K Keshav Rao said here today.
"Congress is committed to Telangana. We had included
the issue in an address delivered by President. It was
mentioned by the Prime Minister in a press conference. We made
a positive statement (by Union Home Minister). We tried for
consensus on the issue. So, I appeal to all to support
Congress," he told reporters.
Asked about the statement of TRS president K
Chandrasekhar Rao that Congress should be routed in the coming
bypolls in Telangana, Keshav Rao wondered how would the defeat
of Congress contribute to the formation of separate Telangana
The TRS president said the Congress should be defeated
in the coming bypolls to 12 assembly seats to send a message
to the Sri Krishna committee that the whole of Telangana is in
favour of separate state.
Keshav Rao also said the visit of TDP leaders to
Maharashtra to see the controversial Babhli barrage is a
Andhra Pradesh should present its case effectively
when the all-party delegation meets the Prime Minister over
the issue on July 26, he said.
Keshav Rao condemned the reported remarks of Shiv Sena
Chief Bal Thackeray that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his
party leaders should have been served food in a bowl.
