Hyderabad: The ruling Congress MLAs from
Telangana region, who have been staying away from the
legislature in support of the separate Telangana demand, on Wednesday
held a protest in the premises of the Assembly.

Holding placards, they assembled at the Gandhi statue in
the Assembly premises and raised slogans in support of the
separate statehood demand.
Congress MLA S Rajaiah told reporters that they would
extend moral support to the `million march to Hyderabad`
called by the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC)
tomorrow.

Meanwhile, state ministers J Geeta Reddy and B Saraiah,
both hailing from Telangana, have reportedly met the MLAs and
urged them to attend the Assembly session.

The MLAs are, however, understood to have said that they
would attend the session only after the ministers` visit to
Delhi to meet the party high command.
The state ministers from Telangana have sought an
appointment with party president Sonia Gandhi to present their
case for separate Telangana.
