Cong MLC quits over `harassment` to late AP CM`s family

The MLC, however, submitted his resignation today after the CBI froze the bank accounts of Jagati Publications and Indira Television Limited, owned by Jagan.

Hyderabad: Congress member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from Kurnool district, S V Mohan Reddy, on Wednesday resigned from his post protesting the "harassment" of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy`s family by the ruling party.

Mohan Reddy, incidentally, has been facing disqualification proceedings as he has sided with YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy by defying the Congress. In fact, he had deposed before Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani only yesterday and presented his version on the disqualification issue.

The MLC, however, submitted his resignation today after the CBI froze the bank accounts of Jagati Publications and Indira Television Limited, owned by Jagan.
"It was (late) YSR who made me an MLC. I can`t stand the harassment his family is being subjected to by the Congress," Mohan Reddy said, adding that he would henceforth work full-time for the YSR Congress.
