`Cong to file disqualification pleas against MLAs who switched loyalty`
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday said Congress would file disqualification petitions against party MLAs, who have switched loyalty to YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday said Congress would file disqualification petitions against party MLAs, who have switched loyalty to YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
The party will give notice for disqualification against those who are switching sides, he told reporters in coastal districts, where he is currently campaigning for the June 12 bypolls to 18 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha constituency.
Reddy`s remarks came in the wake of two Congress MLAs announcing support for Jagan and another two party MLAs, expressing solidarity with YSR Congress leader and Jagan`s mother YS Vijaya Lakshmi.
Meanwhile, state Congress president Botsa Satyanarayana said Vijaya Lakshmi was only trying to gain political mileage by raising doubts over the death of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
"We too have doubts. Jagan took signatures of party MLAs to drum up support for his claim for CM`s post at the time of Rajasekhara Reddy`s death. The role of Jagan and the truth should come out," he said.
Vijaya Laxmi has taken over the mantle of campaigning for the bypolls following the arrest of Jagan in a disproportionate assets case.
Addressing election meetings, she has raised doubts over the death of her husband in a chopper crash in 2009.
