Hyderabad: Acting tough on another supporter
of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Congress today sought an explanation
from the Nellore district party president for asking party men
to join the Kadapa MP`s controversial Odarpu yatra.

"We sought an explanation from Nellore district Congress
committee president Y Gopal Reddy for giving asking party men
to participate in the `Odarpu yatra`, which is a personal tour
of Jagan," Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) general
secretary R Padmaraju told reporters here.

Padmaraju, APCC coordinator for Nellore district, who
issued the notice, said Gopal should send his reply at the
earliest.

"The APCC feels that Gopal should not have made the
appeal to the party men as he is the DCC president. The
`Odarpu yatra` is a personal tour," he said.

The party would take action against Gopal if his reply is
not satisfactory, Padmaraju said.

Asked why the party is not taking action against state
Mines Minister B Srinivasa Reddy and Nellore MP M Rajamohan
Reddy who have openly supported Jagan`s yatra, Padmaraju
refused to comment saying that he is only the coordinator for
Nellore district.

Congress had earlier suspended party general secretary
Ambati Rambabu, a staunch supporter of Jagan, for his remarks
against Chief Minister K Rosaiah and party leadership.

The high command had also told party MLAs from Prakasam
district not to participate in Jagan`s ongoing `Odarpu yatra`
in the district.
