DA case: Jagan claims being made a scapegoat

Hyderabad: YSR Congress chief and MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is among 13 people booked by CBI in an alleged disproportionate assets case, on Sunday said the action smacked of "dirty politics" and claimed he is being made a scapegoat.

A day after CBI filed the chargesheet against him and 12 others, Reddy, the Lok Sabha MP from Kadapa, regretted that attempts are being made to malign his father and late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy who was killed in a helicopter crash.

In its chargesheet, CBI accused Jagan Reddy of getting investments of several crores from firms into his own business as part of quid-pro-quo when his father was the chief minister.

"Today, I am being made a scapegoat just because my father is no longer alive...You are actually trying to malign someone who is no longer alive...This is dirty politics," Reddy told TV channels in his first reaction to the chargesheet.

Mr Reddy, if you are innocent, prove it. You made billions staying in Politics, then the politics was good. Now it has turned against you, and mind you, you are not a weak person by any means, you say it is dirty. Well prove it.

The CBI is as usual playing in the hands of politicians in power. All the assets the CBI is probing now were created by YSR during his regime. As long as YSR was in Congress nothing was done. Jagans nightmare started only after the death of YSR when he refused to toe the line of Congress Govt. in the center. It only confirms that the Govt is using CBI to fulfill its goals.
