Kakinada: The East Godavari police have
arrested four persons, all former convicts, and recovered from
them stolen booty including gold and silver ornaments, worth
Rs 7 lakh.
The accused were produced before the media on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police, Dr Trivikram Varma, said the arrests
were made in three separate cases.
Challa Ram Mohan Reddy (24), an MCA student and Rudra
Raghavendra Rao (19) a junior college student, are residents
of Kakinada. Gold chains weighing 192 grams and worth Rs 5
lakh, pertaining to 6 chain snatching cases, were recovered
from them.
In another case, Konnala Pydi Raju (20) was arrested and
gold and silver ornaments worth Rs one lakh, stolen from two
houses in Ramanayyapeta of Kakinada rural mandal, were
recovered.
In the third case, Polinati Apparao, who allegedly
committed several thefts in Sarpavaram area, was arrested and
gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.44 lakh were recovered
from him.
All the four would be produced before the court on Wednesday.
