Hyderabad: Police have nabbed a gang of criminals involved in the gruesome gang-rape case of an 18-year-old girl at a farm-house on the outskirts of the city.
Seven people have been held for the the gang-rape that occurred on July 31. Cops say that the modus-operandi of the gang was to threaten victims with snakes and rob them.
Cops added that the gang had broken into the farm-house with the motive of robbery, but they chanced upon the couple who had come there.
After robbing the victims the culprits took turns to rape the girl while threatening her with snake.
They filmed the entire act on their mobile phones and threatened to make the clip public.
The incident came to light only recently as the police had kept the identity of victim confidential and was in the process of arresting the culprits.
The Pahadishareef police of Cyberabad has made seven arrests in this case so far. Sudershan Reddy, Inspector, said, “This notorious gang used to terrorise people on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Their modus operandi is threatening people with snakes and looting and robbing them."
"In this case they threatened the victim with snakes and filmed her. Not only this, they used to hold kangaroo courts for petty settlements," the officer added.
