Jagan challenges scaling down of security

YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has challenged in court the scaling down of his security by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has challenged in court the scaling down of his security by the Andhra Pradesh government.

In a petition filed in the Hyderabad High Court, Jagan complained that the government scaled down the 'Z' category security which was given to him three years ago.

He said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government scaled down the security despite the fact that he was Leader of Opposition and enjoys cabinet rank.

The YSR Congress leader said he faced threat to his life from Maoists and factionists. Terming the move "unjust", he alleged that the government scaled down his security over narrow political interests.
